«English-speaking countries and English language»

Цели и задачи:
- Образовательные: совершенствование лексических, грамматических и разговорных навыков. Проверка знаний учащихся по страноведению.
- Развивающие: развитие творческих способностей и коммуникативных навыков, умения работать в группе; повышать мотивации к изучению английского языка у учащихся.; развивать познавательный интерес учащихся к стране изучаемого языка;
- Воспитательные: формирование уважительного отношение к культуре и традициям стран изучаемого языка.
Игра состоит из 10 блоков. В каждом из них по нескольку заданий, за которые начисляются баллы.
Игра проходит в форме брейн-ринга.
Учащиеся делятся на команды по 5 человек в каждой и выбирают капитана.
В качестве жюри – приглашенные учителя.
Ход мероприятия:
- Hello, kids! Как вы знаете, в нашей школе проходит неделя английского языка
Мы с вами сегодня проведем веселую викторину «English-speaking countries and English language».Какие основные англо-говорящие страны вы знаете? Сегодня мы поговорим о двух англо-говорящих странах, о Великобритании и США.
(Учащиеся заранее делятся на команды и выбирают капитанов).
- Капитаны, представьте ваши команды.
Конкурс № 1.
Этот конкурс разминочный и довольно шуточный. Вам нужно будет закончить стихотворение словом на английском языке.

А пока капитаны выполняют задание команды соревнуются в том, как много слов они могут составить. Задание для капитанов и для команд даётся на время, по сигналу и капитаны и команды прекращают выполнять задание.
