Сценарий урока английского языка в 7 классе "Some facts about America"

Образовательный потенциал урока иностранного языка с позиции ФГОС: Учебник О.В. Афанасьева И.В. Михеева, К.М. Баранова - Английский язык (Rainbow English 7 класс).

Тема урока: Some facts about America.

Тип урока: Комплексное применение знаний, умений, навыков.

Цели урока:

- Формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся через практику лексико-грамматических структур в ситуациях, приближенных к реальной жизни.

- Повторить и обобщить времена: настоящее продолженное, настоящее простое, прошедшее простое, настоящее совершенное.

Планируемые результаты:

- Предметные: закрепить лексико-грамматические знания и умения в диалогической и монологической речи, научить писать проекты используя интернет и справочную литературу, и иллюстрации.

- Личностные: формировать понимание ценностей социо-культурного наследия человечества, формировать познавательные интересы к миру вокруг нас.

Метапредметные: Определять и регулировать цель и тему урока, уметь осознанно строить устные и письменные высказывания, уметь слушать других и вступать с ними в диалог.

Форма урока: фронтальная, индивидуальная, групповая.

Основные понятия: название городов, континентов, стран, имена путешественников, названия праздников.

Технологии: здоровьесберегающая, информационно-коммуникативная, коммуникативная.

 

Ход урока (Procedure of the lesson)

1. Организационный этап.

Учитель приветствует детей и проверяет готовность к уроку.
Teacher: Good morning! Nice to meet you! Are you ready for the lesson?
Pupils
: With pleasure! Its a good idea!

2. Речевая зарядка.

Учитель проводит речевую зарядку по теме «Погода». Учащиеся используют ранее изученные выражения по этой теме.

Teacher: What date is it today? As Englishmen like to talk about the weather when meet. It’s time to follow their tradition. What’s the weather like today?

Pupil 1: To my mind it’s pouring down today. I’m soaking wet.

Pupil 2: You are wrong. It’s really hot today. I’m boiling

Pupil 3: It s quite windy. It’s an awful weather. Everything is blowing away and I’m cold.

Pupil 4: The weather is fine for this season. It s neither hot nor coldPupil 5: Look through the window! The sun is shining brightly. The sky is blue.

Teacher: What s the temperature today?

Pupil 6: It s five degrees below zero

Teacher: What climate does Moscow region have? What’s the weather like in general?
Pupil 7: The weather behaves in different ways.

It can change from day to day

Rain and snow and sunshine too.

3. Фонетическая зарядка.

Учащиеся поют песню о погоде: Whats the weather like today?
Teacher: There is no bad weather, there is bad mood. And the song about the weather will warm us up.
Pupils: What’s the weather what’s the weather what’s the weather like today?

Is it cold or is it sunny? Can we go outside to play?

When it’s windy, when it’s windy we go outside and fly our kite.

The kite flies high up in the sky and we play until it’s dark …etc.

4. Определение темы урока.

Учитель показывает таблички со словами, а ученики произносят за ним слова и стихотворение, которые помогают им ассоциировать представленный материал с основной темой урока..
Teacher: Look at these tables and repeat after me America Central, America, North America, South America, the USA ,the states

The world is full

Of a number of things

I’m sure we should

All be happy as kings.

Мозговой штурм для усиления понимания темы урока.
Учитель показывает карту западного полушария и просит ответить на вопросы.
Look at the map and answer my questions.
What continents do you see?(North America and South America)
What does  the word America mean?(The name of new continents)
What countries are situated on these continents?( Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Venezuela.
Which is the biggest country on these continents (The USA)?

5. Выдвижение гипотезы по теме урока в игровой форме.
Teacher:There is a strong need to find out the topic of our lesson. Have you got any ideas?
Pupil:It’s something about America.
Учитель раздает карточки со словами и предлагает учащимся составить из них название темы.
Teacher: You are right. Now I ask you to take these papers and make up the name of the topic.
Учащиеся выходят к доске и демонстрируют название темы:

Some facts about America.”

6. Групповая работа для проверки понимания текста по домашнему чтению о Христофоре Колумбе.
Учитель предлагает разделиться на две группы. Каждая группа составляет вопросы к своим напечатанным утверждениям и учащиеся задают их устно по очереди. Противоположная сторона отвечает на вопросы.
Teacher: In order to check up your home reading comprehension, we should do some group work. Split out into two groups, take these papers, put questions on these statements and answer them.

Statements for the first group.
1. Christopher Columbus discovered the new continent America.
2. Columbus was born in Italy.
3. Columbus lived all his life in Spain.
4. The king and the queen of Spain gave him money to go to India.
5. He reached Central America.

Questions.
1. What continent did Columbus discover?

2. Where was Columbus born?
3. Where did Columbus live all his life?
4. Who gave him money to go to India?
5. What country did he reach?

Statements for the second group.
1. Columbus made four voyages to the New World.
2. The New World is the name of the new continents.
3. On his second voyage he reached Cuba.
4. Columbus never landed on the mainland of North America.
5. Spain had some settlements in South and Central America.

Questions.
1. How many voyages did Columbus make?
2. What do the words “The “New World” mean?
3. What island did he reach on his second voyage?
4. Did Columbus land on the mainland in South and Central America?
5. Why do people in South and Central America speak Spanish?
Учитель подводит итоги групповой работы.
To sum up, I’d like to say that you worked thoroughly during your group work. All of you were active in making up questions on the statements and in answering them. You haven’t done any grammar mistakes.
You are great! Well done.

7. Закрепление новой лексики по теме.
Учитель предлагает спеть песню об открытии Америки.
We can sing a song about Columbus’s trip.

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. He had three ships and left from Spain.

•      He sailed through sunshine, wind and rain.

•      He sailed by night; he sailed by day;

•      He used the stars to find his way.

•      A compass also helped him know

•      How to find the way to go.

•      Ninety sailors were on board;

•      Some men worked while others snored.

•      Then the workers went to sleep;

•      And others watched the ocean deep.

•      Day after day they looked for land;

•      They dreamed of trees and rocks and sand.

•      October 12 their dream came true,

•      You never saw a happier crew!

•      "Indians!  Indians!"  Columbus cried; 

•      His heart was filled with joyful pride.

•      But "India" the land was not; 

•      The Arakawa natives were very nice;

•      They gave the sailors food and spice.

•      Columbus sailed on to find some gold

•      To bring back home, as he'd been told.

•      He made the trip again and again,

•      Trading gold to bring to Spain.

•      The first American?  No, not quite.

But Columbus was brave, and he was bright.

8. Презентация проектной работы.

Учитель предлагает ученикам представить свой проект «Открытие Америки».

Teacher: A week ago you began working on the project “Discovery of America”.
После презентации учитель дает оценку проекту, делает замечания, просит учащихся выразить свое мнение и объявляет оценки.
To sum up, I’d like to say that you worked thoroughly on project, did a wide variety of tasks, evaluated your progress. I praise your efforts as well as your success.

9. Формирование навыков диалогической речи.

Учитель предлагает разыграть диалоги о поездке в Америку, чтобы закрепить лексико-грамматические структуры. Учащиеся готовили диалоги в процессе проектной работы в течение недели. 

Teacher: In order to repeat Present Perfect and other tenses let’s act out some dialogues about your visit to America.

Dialogue 1.

P1: Hello! I have not seen you for ages.

P2: Oh, I have been on a wonderful journey! I travelled to Washington and then had a voyage by sea.

P1: Fantastic! Did you go there with your parents?

P2: With Mum and Dad. I left Moscow for Washington by plane.

P1: Did you like it?

P2: Yes, our flight was very nice. I had a comfortable seat by the window.

P1: Did you change anywhere?

P2: Oh, no. We were lucky. It was a through plane.

P1: When did you arrive?

P2: At midnight .We took a taxi and went straight to the hotel .Come and see me some day. I’ll show you the video.

P1: Thanks. I will.

Dialogue 2.

P1: Hi, Jack! You look so fresh and sun-tanned. How  was your trip to Florida?

P2: My vacation was fantastic! I think I had the time of my life!

P1: Who did you go with? Did you go there alone?

P2: With my aunt.

P1: How long did you stay there? Was it a nice hotel?

P2: I stayed for a couple of weeks. The accommodation and meal in a 5 star hotel were just perfect.

P1: What did you do there?

P2: I went to sandy beaches and swam every day.

P1: I hope to go to Florida some day too.

P2: Then be ready to spend a fortune there.

Dialogue 3.

Passport control.

P1: Can I see your ticket to Washington and passport?

P2: Certainly, there you are.

P1: Did you pack your bag yourself?

P2: Yes!

P1: What have you got in your suitcase?

P2: Only private things.

P1: Do you have anything to declare?

P2: No, I just have these duty free items that I bought.

P1: Would you like a window or an aisle seat?

P2: Window seat. What time will we be boarding?

P1: We begin boarding at 7.

P1: There is a lot of nerves before flying.

P2: You know air flight is the safest form to travel. Please, try to relax.

Dialogue 4.

On board the plane.

P1: Would you like to order any duty free goods?

P2: Yes, please. I’d like this French bottle of perfume.

P1: Seventy US dollars.

P2: Can I pay by credit card?

P1: Yes, all credit cards are accepted. Is there anything else you’d like sir?

P2: I’d like these sun glasses.

P1: Yes, their price are a hundred thirty five US dollars. Can I have your credit card please?

P2: Sure.

P1: Thank you. The total price bill comes to 205 US dollars. Please wait while I collect your duty free goods.

10. Подведение итогов.

Учитель оценивает диалоги, объясняет домашнее задание и заканчивает урок.

I evaluate progress in your phonic skills and intonation. The logic presentation of dialogues was up to the mark. You did your best.

I think the lesson was efficient and we can feel a sense of achievement.
